Professional Strategy and System Transformation Manager

Type: 0.8 FTE, permanent

Hours: 32 hours per week

Location: Prefer Hybrid (Open to consider Remote) - on the ancestral Coast Salish Territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh Nations (additional in-office details below)

Salary: $90,000 – $100,000 (pay range explained below)

The Role

The Manager, Professional Strategy & System Transformation provides operational and project leadership within MABC's Health Systems Strategy & Transformation department. The role brings together professional engagement, applied research, project management, and health system improvement. The Manager also supports the day-to-day coordination and delivery of departmental priorities.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and support member engagement, consultation, surveys, focus groups, and other listening activities
  • Build relationships with midwives across regions
  • Identify themes and emerging issues and translate findings into recommendations
  • Lead the operational work of the Midwifery Futures Council
  • Translate Council discussions into clear reports, frameworks, recommendations, and next steps
  • Support MABC's working relationship with the Indigenous Midwives of BC (IMCBC), bringing cultural safety and humility to this work
  • Conduct and coordinate environmental scans, jurisdictional reviews, literature reviews, and applied research
  • Prepare briefing notes, discussion papers, reports, and presentations
  • Lead priority projects from planning through implementation and evaluation
  • Support initiatives related to models of care, service development, workforce, and health system transformation
  • Support contract negotiation planning
  • Support development and delivery of the department's annual workplan
  • Support budget monitoring and resource planning

What You Bring

  • A Master's degree is preferred and/or professional education in midwifery, nursing, medicine, public health, health sciences, health administration, social work, or a related field or a combination of education, training and experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressively responsible experience in experience in healthcare, maternity care, project or program management, applied research or evidence synthesis, member, clinician, or stakeholder engagement, quality improvement or system transformation, strategic planning, health policy or service planning, workforce or professional practice initiatives, team or project leadership or related fields.
  • Strongly prefer regulated health professionals with significant perinatal, infant, sexual and reproductive healthcare, professional practice, and experience within British Columbia's health system.
  • Previous healthcare association work is an asset

Compensation & Benefits

Salary of $90,000 – $100,000 - The Pay Range shows the minimum and maximum annual salary based on 0.8 FTE.

Incumbents are typically hired, transferred or promoted based on their knowledge, skills, abilities and experience in relation to the role requirements as well as internal equity.
