Medical Office Assistant (MOA)

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Office Assistant (MOA) to join our growing team. This role is essential to the day-to-day operations of our clinic, supporting both administrative functions and patient care coordination. The ideal candidate is professional, efficient, and comfortable working in a fast-paced medical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner
  • Manage incoming phone calls and direct inquiries appropriately
  • Schedule and coordinate patient appointments
  • Facilitate patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Verify insurance information and collect applicable payments
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records within the EMR system
  • Engage with medical records in a manner that is compliant with PIPA/PIPEDA guidelines
  • Assist with basic billing and administrative tasks
  • Coordinate referrals with specialists, labs, and other healthcare providers

Qualifications & Skills

  • Previous experience in a medical office or similar administrative role preferred
  • Have an understanding of basic medical terminology
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and general computer applications
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask effectively
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Experience with Med Access EMR is a bonus
