INTRODUCTION:

Commissionaires Great Lakes (CGL) is a private, not-for-profit organization founded in 1925 on a mandate that prioritizes providing meaningful employment for veterans and others committed to the well being of Canadians primarily in security guard and related services. Spanning Central and Southwestern Ontario, our services are customized to respond to the dynamic and evolving security needs of both private and public sector clients. These include uniformed guard, mobile response and support services, by-law enforcement and identification services.


We are currently seeking a Commissionaire to join our growing team. This posting is for an existing vacancy.

WHAT OUR EXCEPTIONAL COMMISSIONAIRES ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR:


  • Responsible for the security of the facility
  • Responsible for guards onsite, ensuring staffing needs are met.
  • Ensuring access control is followed and client property is secured, escorting visitors as required
  • Monitoring of CCTV equipment
  • Completing shipping and receiving duties, including shipment audits and trailer inspections.
  • Maintaining positive attitude and professional working relationships with employees, visitors, and the client
  • Maintaining high standards of personal appearance and deportment
  • Responding to alarms and utilization of alarm panels
  • Providing assistance to employees, clients, and visitors
  • Completing daily logs and written reports as necessary
  • Standing or being on your feet for certain lengths of time
  • Being able to bend down and lift a minimum of 11 Lbs. to apply pinlocks to fifth wheel pins
  • Foot Patrols on a regular basis during shift
  • Occasionally be required to cover other Estee Lauder Locations as a Backfill
  • Other duties as may be required by the client or Regional Manager

WE ARE EXCITED FOR YOU TO OFFER US:

  • *MUST*Valid Ontario Security Guard License
  • *MUST*Valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • MUST have previous security supervisor experience
  • The ability to stand for long periods of time and complete frequent patrols
  • Strong understanding of computers
  • Strong communication skills
  • Customer service/reception/administrative skills
  • The ability to work alone while maintaining a high level of service to the client is essential
  • Able to use Microsoft Programs such as Word Excel, Outlook, and Teams.

WHAT THE JOB OFFERS YOU:

  • Job Type: Full Time
  • Hourly Rate of Pay: $23.69
  • Hours of work: 07:00-15:00
