What are we offering you
Compensation & Benefits

• $23.30/hour, paid bi-weekly with guaranteed annual increases
• UBCJA Union Membership
• Employer paid Extended Health Care, Vision, Dental, AD&D, Life Insurance and Pension
• 10% vacation pay in addition to hourly wage

Work Hours:

• 7:00 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday

What you’ll be doing

Panel Assembly:

• Precisely assemble panels and components in accordance with fabrication drawings, contributing to the exceptional quality of our manufactured products.
• Maintain consistently tight tolerances during assembly work to ensure each piece meets our rigorous quality standards.

Quality Control Contribution:

• Demonstrate meticulous attention to detail in monitoring work quality, promptly reporting any issues to management following the guidelines outlined in our QAQC manual.
• Actively participate in quality assurance processes to uphold product standards and identify opportunities for improvement.

Safety Protocol Adherence:

• Proactively engage in daily safety procedures to ensure all work is conducted in compliance with safety guidelines, promptly halting and rectifying any unsafe practices.
• Complete daily startup checklists to verify the presence of all equipment and safety measures before commencing work.

Maintenance and Cleanliness:

• Vigilantly maintain cleanliness in the work area to promote a safe and efficient environment for operations.
• Adhere to routine maintenance schedules and contribute to keeping the manufacturing area organized and free of hazards.

Operational Proficiency:

• After receiving thorough training, proficiently operate a variety of machines and tools essential for our production processes.
• Load and transport materials as necessary to support the smooth flow of operations across the manufacturing floor.

Training and Development:

• Engage in ongoing training activities to enhance skill levels and deepen understanding of complex fabrication drawings and manufacturing processes.
• Ensure accurate and efficient installation of various building components, such as insulation, windows, cladding, and gaskets, following precise guidelines.

Desired Experience & Qualifications:Skills, Qualifications and Track Record:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic understanding of manufacturing processes with a demonstrated ability to learn new skills quickly.
• Previous experience in the manufacturing industry with strong manufacturing acumen.
• Physically fit and able to safely perform tasks and operate machinery.
• Safety-conscious with a consistent focus on workplace safety protocols.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and address quality issues.
• Proficient in cutting, shaping, and assembling steel/metal components, including surface preparation (e.g., grinding, deburring, cleaning metals).
• Ability to read and interpret fabrication drawings, including a solid understanding of tolerances and dimensions.
• Skilled in operating fabrication machinery such as saws, press brakes, punches, and hand tools, with general knowledge of CNC machines.
• Adaptable and quick to adjust to changing tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Team-oriented with excellent collaboration and communication skills.
