Overview

We are seeking an experienced Dental Receptionist to join our busy dental practice. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dental office administration, excellent communication skills, and proficiency with dental management software. This role is vital in creating a welcoming environment for patients and ensuring smooth daily operations. Prior experience with electronic medical records and office management systems is highly preferred. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of managing multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced setting.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients warmly and professionally upon arrival, ensuring a positive first impression
  • Manage multi-line phone systems to schedule appointments, confirm patient visits, and handle inquiries
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems such as Abeldent.
  • Verify insurance information and assist with billing procedures
  • Collect payments and process transactions accurately at the front desk
  • Prepare and update patient charts, ensuring all medical and dental information is current
  • Coordinate with dental staff to facilitate smooth patient flow and appointment scheduling
  • Handle administrative tasks including data entry, filing, and correspondence
  • Manage appointment reminders via phone or electronic communication tools
  • Maintain a clean, organized front desk area in compliance with office protocols

Skills

  • Proven experience as a Dental Receptionist or in a similar front desk role within a dental or medical office environment
  • Proficiency with dental management software such as Abeldent experience with electronic medical records is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dental practice operations
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to handle multi-line phone systems effectively
  • Exceptional organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping and appointment management
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining professionalism and friendliness
  • Prior experience working with insurance verification, billing, and payment processing is preferred
  • Familiarity with office equipment and administrative procedures in a healthcare setting
