Position Highlights
Capital Construction, within Project Delivery, oversees a multi-billion-dollar portfolio of more than 2,000 active contracts. Its
Contract Management function provides contract governance, commercial leadership and execution support for BC Hydro’s
capital plan.

Contract Professionals within the Strategic Service Contracts and Claims team manage portfolios of engineering and project
service contracts across Generation, Transmission and Environmental Services. These include strategic, multi-year Master
Service Agreements supporting engineering, environmental, project delivery and related professional services.

We are seeking a Contract Professional to manage a portfolio of strategic service contracts with a focus on Environmental
Master Service Agreements and associated supplier and stakeholder relationships.

What you'll do

  • Manage Master Service Agreements and associated service requests or call-offs, ensuring work is delivered in
accordance with contract requirements.

  • Support Hydro Reps within the business as they manage Work Authorization Contracts throughout the contract lifecycle,
including implementation, administration, changes, payments, disputes, renewals and closeout.

  • Build and manage effective relationships across internal business groups, stakeholders and suppliers.

  • Monitor supplier performance, risks, deliverables and key performance indicators, and work with suppliers and
stakeholders to resolve issues.

  • Address performance concerns, non-compliance and relationship challenges, turning difficult conversations into
constructive, mutually beneficial outcomes.

  • Interpret contract formats, pricing structures, scopes and terms and conditions, and clearly communicate contractual
requirements to stakeholders.

  • Develop and maintain Contract Management Plans, performance reports, forecasts and other contract records.

  • Work with project teams, technical specialists and Supply Chain to ensure contract delivery supports business and project
objectives.

  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve supplier performance, realize expected contract benefits, reduce costs
and improve contract-management processes.

What you bring

  • A degree in Business, Law, Finance or related discipline, plus seven or more years of progressive experience managing
complex contracts. An equivalent combination of education, training and experience may be considered.

  • Demonstrated experience managing high-value or complex service contracts, preferably involving engineering,
environmental, project delivery or other professional services.

  • Strong knowledge of contract administration, risk management, performance management, negotiation and dispute
resolution.

  • Experience interpreting contract formats, pricing structures, scopes of work and terms and conditions.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage effective supplier and stakeholder relationships.

  • Proven ability to address supplier-performance issues and difficult contractual discussions constructively.

  • Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication, facilitation, negotiation and organizational skills.

  • Experience using performance measures, reports and data to identify contract risks, trends and improvement
opportunities.

  • Ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams without direct authority.

  • Experience with Master Service Agreements, public-sector or utility environments, SAP, and relevant professional
designations is considered an asset.

Please note that additional positions of similar scope and responsibility may be filled through this competition based on
operational requirements; these positions may focus on Environmental or other portfolios.

What we offer

  • A comprehensive benefits package
  • A minimum of 15 paid vacation days
  • A lifetime pension
  • Flexible work model, depending on your role type
  • Training and development courses
