Job Description:

Company Summary

Arterra Wines Canada Western Viticulture Department operates multiple premium vineyards across the South Okanagan region containing a wide range of grape varieties, soil types, and growing conditions.

We are currently recruiting Vineyard Workers for Seasonal Full-Time positions for 2027. Applicants must be willing to work at this physically demanding job in all weather conditions at our vineyards located in Oliver and Osoyoos for a minimum of 40 hours per week. Applicants must be available to work from January to November 2027. Wage range is $18.25 to $19.75 per hour depending on the skill requirements of duties performed.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • This position will require successful applicants to perform tasks related to vineyard operations: vine management including pruning, tie vines, plant, replant vines, water and train young vines, suckering and shoot thinning, weed control, hoe, canopy management including tucking, hedging, leaf removal, move catch wire; fruit management including bird, pest and disease control and fruit thinning; harvesting including placing bins and loading bins; harvesting fruit, cane cutting, repairing bins; vineyard and trellis maintenance including post, anchor and wire repair or replacement, removing rocks, filling holes, weed trimming around end post and anchors, maintenance of headland and operation of vineyard equipment were required.
  • The primary duty of this position is manual general vineyard labour and may include some specialized equipment operation with implements, irrigation duties including system build and repair, and fertigating, or pest and disease and vine health monitoring and data collection for candidates looking for enhanced responsibilities and a willingness to be trained to take on these additional duties.

Qualifications

  • No education requirement
  • Experience is an asset, but not required and training will be provided
  • English communication; Spanish is an asset
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Available for early morning, evening, on-call, weekend, overtime shifts
  • Be able to work under conditions that require standing for long periods of time, bending, crouching, kneeling, lifting and navigating uneven terrain when walking

Number of Openings: 40 positions at basic level + 30 positions with enhanced duties
