Full job description

We are looking for a reliable, organized, and proactive House Manager / Housekeeper to join our family on a long-term basis.

This is a hands-on role that combines housekeeping, meal preparation, household organization, grocery planning, laundry, and household management. We are looking for someone who takes pride in creating a clean, welcoming, and well-organized home.
The ideal candidate enjoys taking ownership, works independently, pays close attention to detail, and genuinely enjoys helping a busy family by keeping the household running smoothly.

Responsibilities
Housekeeping

  • Thoroughly clean all bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining room, living areas, office, hallways, and stairs.
  • Dust furniture, shelves, décor, baseboards, and light fixtures.
  • Vacuum carpets, rugs, upholstery, and stairs.
  • Sweep and mop all hard floors.
  • Clean windows, mirrors, and glass doors.
  • Sanitize kitchens and bathrooms.
  • Empty garbage and recycling.
  • Make beds and change bed linens.
  • Keep the laundry room clean and organized.
  • Organize closets, pantry, cabinets, and storage spaces.
  • Maintain a consistently clean, tidy, and welcoming home.

Outdoor Areas

  • Sweep and tidy the front entrance, porch, and patio.
  • Wipe down outdoor furniture.
  • Keep the BBQ area clean and organized.
  • Water outdoor plants and planters if required.
  • Ensure outdoor entertaining spaces are neat and guest-ready.
  • Report any maintenance concerns.

Meal Planning & Cooking

  • Plan healthy weekly meals for the family.
  • Prepare fresh family dinners each weekday before leaving.
  • Prepare healthy lunches and grab-and-go snacks.
  • Portion leftovers into glass containers for easy meals.
  • Label and organize prepared meals.
  • Suggest new recipes and seasonal meal ideas.
  • Keep the kitchen clean and fully reset before leaving each day.

Grocery & Household Supplies

  • Create a complete weekly grocery list for online ordering.
  • Monitor pantry, refrigerator, freezer, and household supplies.
  • Receive and organize grocery deliveries.
  • Restock household essentials before they run low.
  • Rotate food inventory to minimize waste.

Laundry & Wardrobe Care

  • Wash, dry, fold, iron, and organize clothing.
  • Care for delicate and specialty garments.
  • Organize closets and seasonal clothing.
  • Maintain household linens and towels.

Errands & Household Support

  • Run local errands as required.
  • Pick up prescriptions and household items.
  • Receive deliveries.
  • Prepare for guests.
  • Assist with travel packing and unpacking.
  • Help organize gifts, holiday decorations, and seasonal household tasks.
  • Coordinate service appointments when needed.

Daily Expectations
Before leaving each day, you will ensure:

  • The home is clean, tidy, and organized.
  • Laundry is completed and put away.
  • Dinner is prepared or ready to heat.
  • Healthy snacks and lunches are prepared as needed.
  • The kitchen is spotless.
  • The dining table is set for dinner.
  • Garbage and recycling have been taken care of.
  • Household supplies are stocked.
  • The family returns to a calm, welcoming home.

Qualifications
We're looking for someone who:

  • Has previous housekeeping, house management, hospitality, or similar experience.
  • Enjoys cooking healthy family meals.
  • Is highly organized and detail-oriented.
  • Is proactive and works well independently.
  • Is trustworthy, dependable, and maintains complete confidentiality.
  • Has excellent time management skills.
  • Is physically capable of performing housekeeping duties.
  • Has a valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Is legally authorized to work in Canada.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
