Now Hiring: Casual Dietary Aides & Cooks @ Malaspina Gardens, Nanaimo

Join our team at our independent facility! We’re currently hiring for multiple frontline support roles!

Responsibilities

Dietary Aides

($25.07 per hour)


  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
  • WHMIS Certificate
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Effective English communication skills
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
  • Ability to work under time constraints
  • Set tables, serve meals and beverages
  • Prepare simple food items and assemble meal trays
  • Wash dishes, clean kitchen and equipment
  • Follow HACCP, food safety, and infection control standards


Cooks

($28.85 per hour)


  • Valid cooking qualification
  • Food Safe Level 1 Certificate
  • Effective English communication skills
  • Legally eligible to work in Canada
  • Ability to organize tasks under pressure
  • Clear Criminal Record Check
  • Prepare and serve meals that meet residents’ dietary needs
  • Plan and prepare meals based on menu requirements and budgets
  • Follow food safety, sanitation, and infection control protocols
  • Maintain inventory and minimize food waste
