Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented FSQA Manager to oversee our food safety and quality assurance processes. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations, while also leading a team focused on quality control and continuous improvement. This role is critical in maintaining the integrity of our products and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance policies and procedures to ensure compliance with food safety regulations.
  • Conduct regular quality inspections and audits to assess adherence to standards.
  • Oversee data collection and analysis related to quality metrics, identifying trends and areas for improvement.
  • Collaborate with production teams to fabricate processes that enhance product quality.
  • Train and mentor staff on quality management practices, fostering a culture of quality within the organization.
  • Utilize tools such as calipers for precise measurements during inspections.
  • Prepare reports on quality performance, presenting findings to management and stakeholders.
  • Manage corrective actions for non-conformities, ensuring timely resolution.

Requirements

  • Proven experience in Quality Control (QA/QC) within the food industry or related field.
  • Strong knowledge of quality assurance principles and practices.
  • Proficient in data collection and analysis techniques relevant to quality management.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulatory requirements related to food safety.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to lead a team effectively while promoting a positive work environment.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities: QA Manager

· Responsible for administering, distributing, interpreting, and enforcing compliance with official formulas, procedures, and appropriate policy positions issued by CFIA & BRC STANDARDS.

· Ensure that the HACCP Program requirements are met with any review for improvement and maintain plant quality systems in compliance with Corporate Quality Policy.

· Lead the food safety, sanitation, technical services.

· Ensure all manufacturing and Packaging Batch cards within reasonable time for random review by CFIA and Audit purposes.

· Ensure compliance to state, federal, and local regulations. Interact with corporate Regulatory team as needed for compliance guidance and alignment.

· Ensure that monthly testing as per CFIA requirements is done and deal with any issues as required.

· Ensure that all weekly, monthly and annual tasks are performed and followed up with.

· Ensure that all labeling requirements are met with for both CFIA and the USDA.

· Ensure that all plant personnel follow the GMP and HACCP guidelines by monitoring with the help of a QA Technician.

· Assure efficient and accurate testing, reporting, and monitoring of product safety and product quality as per company policy.

· Develop and facilitate internal audits to determine/assess compliance to company policy and regulatory requirements.

· Maintain systems for checking, validating and verifying process compliance, including but not limited to HACCP Food Safety Plan, Food defense Plan, and Formula Control to provide production departments with tools necessary for daily operations.

· Assist in all export shipments documentation to the US by dealing with the CFIA and USDA inspectors.

· Facilitate monthly HACCP and Work Safe Meetings and keep documentation for Audit purposes.

· Lead development and implementation of plant GMP, Hygiene and Sanitation programs.

· Ensure effective food safety and food quality training for plant team members and quality assurance staff.

· Advise the plant management team on food safety and food quality trends within the business and recommend appropriate corrective action.

· Advise the plant management on matters of food safety, food quality, process instruction, formulas, specifications and protocol requirements, as may be required to promote high product quality standard.

· Develop and facilitate internal audits to determine satisfactory performance of packaging components and the practice of sound warehousing procedures as they affect product quality.

· Manage plant pest control programs, as appropriate.

· Lead the coordination of ingredient, process and product specifications for the facility, act as primary liaison with Corporate Regulatory and Product Development department.

· Lead the coordination with Consumer Affairs and conduct any follow-up required; track trends and take action as needed.

· Assist and manage development initiatives with R & D and Marketing Projects.

· Assist in filling out the Marketing Forms for new customers in regard to New Distributors and customers.

· Recommend and be involved in new plant projects so that they abide by the CFIA and BRC Requirements.

· Complete special projects and assignments as needed.
