Full job description
NutraSun Foods is currently seeking a dependable, self-motivated individual to join our team as a Sanitation/Laborer at our plant in Regina, SK. Reporting to the Quality Assurance Manager, key areas of responsibility include:
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sanitation of interior and exterior plant areas, including mill, warehouse, boiler rooms, grain receiving, bathrooms, lunchroom and common areas
- Follow all food safety, GMP, HACCP, and Quality Assurance requirements
- Complete daily sanitation checklists, logs, and required documentation accurately and on time
- Execute tasks outlined in the master sanitation schedule, including deep cleaning and preventative sanitation
- Wear, use, and maintain required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times
- Identify and report sanitation issues, equipment damage, or food safety concerns to the appropriate member of the management team
- Assist with corrective actions as required
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
- Follow all workplace safety policies
- Support Quality Assurance audits, trailer inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Conduct regular inventory counts of sanitation items, PPE supplies and prepare list for restocking
- Safely perform snow removal activities which will include manual shoveling and the use of a snow blower
- Perform weed whacking and basic grounds maintenance as needed
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Previous sanitation or food manufacturing experience preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and sanitation procedures
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Ability to work safely while wearing required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Strong attention to detail to ensure compliance with food safety and quality standards
- Ability to complete sanitation records, checklists, and documentation accurately
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, including collaboration with Quality Assurance/Production personnel, supporting colleagues and maintaining a positive work environment
- Physically able to perform sanitation duties, including standing for long periods, lifting, bending, shoveling and working in dusty or cold environments
- Commitment to workplace safety and food safety culture
- Ability to lift to 60 lbs.
