How is feedback from management delivered at BASF?
The plant manager sits in his office and delegates anything he wants to say the the production manager. Performance reviews are given once a year. In 3 out of the 4 years I worked there the performance bonuses were taken away because the staff had accumulated 3 incident reports( one which was a minor slip on the ice with no injury). The company uses the incident program so they don’t have to pay out bonuses at the end of the year.Asked 18 February 2019

What advice would you give the CEO of BASF about how to improve the company?
Send to employees a survey rating their business unit and their managers. Ex/ hours, micromangement etc and have the answers rated from 1-5. Compile and use for a performance review of the manager. They might notice some trends in certain areas (not necessarily good) that are happening as a result. Ask for specific feedback. Each territory should have an opportunity to explain to upper management NOT their immediate supervisor what is happening in their territory. Asked 6 February 2021
