Full job description

For over 30 years Royal Camp Services ltd has been Western Canada’s premier remote camp catering company. We provide catering solutions for small camps consisting of just a few clients to major camp projects necessitating hundreds of clients.


Reporting to the Chef, a Breakfast Cook plays an integral role within Royal Camp Services by ensuring our clients are delivered an exceptional culinary experience to begin their day. A Breakfast Cook is responsible for the food safety and quality of food prepared within their assigned station.


Job duties can include but are not limited to the following:


  • Participate in the preparation, seasoning and cooking of breakfast
  • Maintain high levels of food safety through strong culinary techniques and multiple daily inspections
  • Ensure cleanliness standards are met throughout the kitchen
  • Serve clients on the hotline during meal service
  • Assist the Chef in the training and directing of kitchen staff
  • Assist the Chef in menu planning and grocery order submission
  • Participate in safety meetings conducted by Royal Camp Services
  • Other tasks as required

Requirements:


  • 2-3 years of previous relevant kitchen experience considered an asset
  • Red Seal Cook Certification or in the process completing apprenticeship considered an asset
  • Post-secondary culinary education considered an asset
  • Must have a valid Standard First Aid certification and an Alberta Health Services approved Food Safety Certificate
  • Must have attention to detail and food presentation skills
  • Strong organizational skills and time management skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (including reading, writing, and speaking English)
  • Must be able to lift, move, push, pull, and carry up to 25 lbs.
  • Available to work multiple rotations including but not limited to 21-7 and 28-14
  • Available to work a night shift
  • Be able to provide at least 2 professional work references
