  • Job Title: Maintenance Manager
  • Anticipated salary: $100k to $130k per year.
  • Hours of work: 8 am - 4:30 pm

Key Responsibilities:

The Role:

  • Develop Maintenance programs for all new equipment
  • Develop spare parts program and budget
  • Develop proper PM’s for all new equipment as per manufacturers recommended spec
  • Perform daily and weekly inspection of facility to ensure smooth operations.
  • Delegate maintenance issues to appropriate personnel for effective resolution.
  • Inspect equipment to identify operational inefficiency and facilitate optimization.
  • Perform periodic maintenance and routine calibration of mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic systems.
  • Manage the process of disposal of worn-out/damaged machinery as well as the installation of new equipment.
  • Provide technical advice and recommendations to the maintenance team to ensure an efficient workforce.
  • Conduct risk assessments to identify possible hazard around building facilities or premises.
  • Design and implement programs for effective maintenance operations.
  • Ensure adherence to health/safety procedures and policies.
  • Prepare and manage maintenance budgets in order to meet set objectives.
  • Monitor equipment inventory and place orders when necessary to ensure availability of required resources.
  • Conduct negotiations with third party contractors to determine the rate and terms of service.
  • Supervise the activities of a building upkeep personnel to ensure they maintain a clean and orderly facility.
  • Maintain accurate record of maintenance operations and present to upper management reports of daily activities.

Employee Collaboration:

  • Communicates clear expectations for work outcomes to team members.
  • Escalates concerns to the plant manager.
  • Hire and train maintenance employees to carry out specialized duties.

Safety, Training & Processes:

  • Responsible for supporting safe, respectful, and productive work environment.
  • Ensures that Safety, Production and Accuracy standards are met and provides attention to all production processes to ensure they are carried out in agreement with safety and policies.
  • Coordinate the overall quality of the work and demonstrate an understanding of quality standards and safety regulations.
  • Conducts inspections of own and with QA and JHSC in accordance with company requirements.
  • Works effectively in a processing environment without jeopardizing food safety

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Relevant manufacturing experience in both electrical and mechanical systems; hands on experience with troubleshooting.
  • 5- 7 years’ experience with process and high-speed packaging equipment in a manufacturing setting preferred; general maintenance skills.
  • Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role
  • Experience in planning maintenance operations
  • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry, electrical systems etc.
  • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
  • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
  • High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage
  • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus
