Job Description
The Concessions Supervisor is responsible for the oversight or delegation of responsibilities within the food service operation such as inventory, customer service, food preparation, and food safety and sanitation procedures Essential functions and responsibilities of the position may vary by Aramark location based on client requirements and business needs.
Job Responsibilities
- Schedules and assigns daily work assignments to a food service team and supervises the completion of tasks
- Trains and guides staff on job duties, proper food safety and sanitation procedures, customer service, etc.
- Prepares and builds food items according to standardized recipes and directions
- Properly stores food by adhering to food safety policies and procedures
- Sets up work stations including prep tables, service counters, hot wells, steam tables, etc.
- Breaks down, cleans, and sanitizes work stations
- Serves food to customers while ensuring guest satisfaction and anticipating the customers’ needs
- Replenishes food items and ensure product is stocked to appropriate levels
- Maintains excellent customer service and positive demeanor towards guest, customers, clients, co-workers, etc.
- Adheres to Aramark safety policies and procedures including accurate food safety and sanitation
- Ensures security of company assets

Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience in a related role preferred

Catering Supervisor
Position Summary
The Catering Supervisor is responsible for supporting the daily operation, execution, and service quality of catering events. This role oversees catering staff, coordinates event setup and delivery, communicates with clients and internal teams, and ensures all orders are completed accurately, professionally, and on time.
The Catering Supervisor plays a key role in maintaining a high standard of customer service, food safety, presentation, and operational efficiency. This position requires strong leadership, organization, communication, and the ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
Event Execution and Service
Oversee the setup, delivery, service, and cleanup of catering orders and events.
Ensure all catering orders are complete, accurate, properly labelled, and delivered on time.
Confirm event details such as order quantities, delivery times, locations, dietary restrictions, and service requirements.
Maintain a professional and positive presence when interacting with clients, guests, and campus partners.
Support both drop-off catering and staffed events as required.
Team Leadership
Supervise catering staff during daily operations and scheduled events.
Assign tasks to team members and ensure work is completed efficiently and to standard.
Train, coach, and support staff in catering procedures, customer service, food safety, and event setup expectations.
Address performance concerns and communicate issues to management when necessary.
Promote a team-focused work environment based on accountability, respect, and professionalism.
Operational Coordination
Coordinate with kitchen staff, chefs, managers, and delivery personnel to ensure catering orders are prepared and executed properly.
Review upcoming catering orders and help prepare daily production and delivery plans.
Assist with organizing supplies, equipment, beverages, disposables, and service items needed for events.
Ensure catering vehicles, carts, storage areas, and event equipment are clean, organized, and ready for use.
Report shortages, equipment issues, service concerns, or client feedback to management.
Food Safety and Quality Standards
Ensure all food is handled, stored, transported, and served according to food safety standards.
Monitor food presentation, portioning, temperature control, and overall quality.
Ensure allergens and dietary restrictions are clearly identified and communicated.
Maintain cleanliness and sanitation standards in catering prep areas, service areas, and equipment.
Administrative Support
Assist with reviewing catering orders, schedules, event notes, and client requests.
Help track event changes, missing items, client concerns, and operational follow-up.
Support inventory control by monitoring catering supplies and communicating ordering needs.
Assist with maintaining accurate records related to catering events, labour, and service issues when required.
Qualifications
Previous experience in catering, food service, hospitality, events, or a supervisory role is preferred.
Strong leadership, organization, and time-management skills.
Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with staff, clients, and management.
Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow event instructions accurately.
Ability to problem-solve quickly and remain calm under pressure.
Knowledge of food safety standards is considered an asset.
Valid food handler certification is preferred or required within a set timeframe.
Ability to lift, carry, push, and transport catering equipment, food, beverages, and supplies as needed.
Availability to work flexible hours based on catering event schedules, including early mornings, evenings, or occasional weekends.

Working Conditions
This position requires standing, walking, lifting, carrying, pushing carts, setting up event spaces, and working in both kitchen and event environments. The Catering Supervisor may be required to move between multiple buildings or event locations during a shift.
Reporting Structure
The Catering Supervisor reports to the Catering Manager, Operations Manager, or designated Food Service Manager and works closely with kitchen leadership, service staff, delivery staff, and client contacts.
