Do you love working outdoors, helping people, and spreading holiday cheer? Are you looking for seasonal work that’s fast-paced, meaningful, and full of good vibes?


Aunt Leah’s Independent Lifeskills Society is hiring Seasonal Sales Associates to support the day-to-day operations of our 2026 Annual Christmas Tree Lot Fundraiser — a joyful community tradition that directly supports youth aging out of foster care and young moms at risk of losing custody.


You’ll be at the heart of the action, helping customers find their perfect tree, managing inventory, training volunteers, and keeping your tree lot clean, safe, and festive. This is a hands-on, customer-facing role that’s great for people with retail, volunteer coordination, or outdoor event experience.


This seasonal position runs from November 16 to December 23, 2026 with paid training provided (or earlier, if we sell out!). Shifts are 35 to 37.5 hours per week, including evenings and weekends. Locations are in Vancouver and Burnaby and accessible by transit.

Reports To: Tree Lot Manager


Location: Burnaby Lot – All Saints Anglican Church at Royal Oak and Rumble; 7405 Royal Oak Avenue, Burnaby

Vancouver Lot - St. Stephen’s United Church at 54th and Granville St; 7025 Granville St, Vancouver


Status: Temporary, Seasonal (November 16 to December 23, 2026 or earlier, if sold out); between 35 to 37.5 hrs per week


Compensation: $ 22.00/ hr.


Qualifications:

  • Undergo and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Required to work outdoors in all weather conditions; waterproof clothing & footwear is required
  • This position involves physical work moving objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • Basic knowledge of working with tools – drills, hammers, loppers, saws, exacto knives

Requirements:

  • Undergo and maintain a satisfactory Criminal Record Check
  • Agrees to the Society’s Code of Ethics

Assets:

  • A valid BC driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle
  • Valid First Aid Certification is an asset
  • Non–profit experience, supervising volunteers and working with donors is an asset

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSA):


  • Experience in sales
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Outstanding customer service skills
  • Ability to work independently and in a team
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions
  • Management and supervision experience
  • Physical ability to safely lift 50 lbs.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools – electrical saws (training provided)
  • A desire to contribute to Aunt Leah’s mission of preventing youth from foster care from becoming homeless and vulnerable mothers from losing custody of their children

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participating in site setup and take down
  • Daily opening and closing of the tree lot
  • Counting and tracking tree lot inventory
  • Identifying and assessing customers’ needs to achieve satisfaction, providing product information
  • Wrapping trees and tying trees to customers’ vehicles
  • Supervising, orienting and training volunteers
  • Supervising and handling point of sale register & Square POS App
  • Daily financial reconciliation and reporting
  • Managing and participating in the unloading of suppliers’ tree deliveries
  • Ensuring tree lots are clean, safe, and secure according to Aunt Leah’s Health and Safety policies

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions:

  • Candidates must be able to commit to 35- 37.5 hour per week and be available to work a variety of shifts including mornings and evenings between 9:30 am to 7:30 pm
  • Candidates must have weekend availability
  • Christmas Tree Lots are located in Vancouver and Burnaby
  • This position includes physical work moving objects weighing up to 50lbs
  • This position works outdoors in all weather conditions; waterproof clothing & footwear is required
