The Company


B2Gold is a responsible international senior gold producer headquartered in Vancouver, Canada. Founded in 2007, today, B2Gold has operating gold mines in Mali, Namibia and the Philippines, the Goose Project under construction in northern Canada, and numerous development and exploration projects in various countries including Mali, Colombia and Finland.


Position


Mine Geologist, UG/OP, Nunavut


Location and Reporting Structure


Reporting to the Sr. Mine Geologist, this position will be a fly in- fly out 3x3 rotation based in Nunavut, Canada.


Responsibilities


  • Perform detailed face sampling and mapping to characterize orebody geology and structure. Interpret geological data to delineate ore and waste boundaries accurately.
  • Monitor ore grades at the face to ensure adherence to mining plans. Oversee ore versus waste delineation and stockpile management for optimal material handling.
  • Monitor underground blasts to assess ore recovery and minimize dilution. Generate reconciliation reports to compare planned versus actual production outcomes.
  • Oversee core collection, handling, sampling, and logging for geological and grade analysis. Manage diamond drill hole (DDH) programs, including progress tracking, drill targeting, and collar setup.
  • Record and analyze geotechnical data to support safe mining operations. Maintain accurate geological databases.
  • Coordinate assay sample submission, ensure adherence to sampling protocols and track assay results.
  • Provide field interpretation of the orebody and contribute to geological model updates.
  • Support the development of drill targets.
  • Identify geological hazards and implement risk mitigation strategies to ensure operational safety.


Desired Competencies and
Requirements


  • Five (5) years’ experience as a geologist in a gold producing mine environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in Geology or a related field.
  • A Professional Geoscientist (P.Geo ) designation or ability to obtain same from NAPEG.
  • Proficient in geological mapping and modeling software (e.g., Surfer, Leapfrog, Vulcan, Datamine, Gemcom Surpac).
  • Ability to handle samples and geology equipment.


Compensation and Benefits


For informational purposes, the annual salary for this role is $151,500.00


B2Gold Nunavut offers a competitive compensation package, including salary commensurate with experience, knowledge, and skills, plus a group benefits package for employees and their dependents.
