Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Deli Clerk to join our dynamic retail team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing and serving a variety of fresh deli items, maintaining high standards of food safety and sanitation, and providing exceptional customer service. The ideal candidate will possess strong food handling skills, efficient time management, and a proactive approach to sales and upselling. Responsibilities

  • Prepare and assemble deli products with precision, ensuring freshness and presentation standards are met.
  • Provide friendly, knowledgeable service to customers, assisting with product selection and answering inquiries.
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the deli area in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Restock shelves, display cases, and coolers efficiently to ensure product availability.
  • Assist with food preparation tasks such as slicing meats, cheeses, and other deli items.
  • Support food safety protocols by adhering to proper food handling procedures at all times.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to promote specialty products and increase sales.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth daily operations in a fast paced kitchen.
  • Follow sanitation standards for kitchen equipment and food storage areas.
  • Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by demonstrating professionalism and effective communication.

Experience

Candidates should have prior experience in food service environments such as grocery stores, cafes, or quick service restaurants. Experience in retail , serving, bussing, or general restaurant operations will support success in this role. Candidates with a background in grocery store operations or food industry roles are encouraged to apply.
