Full job description
The Bakery Utility Clerk is responsible to ensure customer service is provided through maintaining a safe and efficient operation while adhering to Company policies, procedures and standards. The Bakery Clerk position reports directly to the Bakery Supervisor/Bakery Manager, and the main responsibilities include;
-
Provides customer service and maintains positive customer relations through the proper handling of customer questions, comments, requests and complaints. Effectively works in a diverse team environment in a proficient and friendly manner.

Performs all aspects of the Bakery Utility function including but not limited to panning and the operation of the bake-off ovens, bakery platter preparation, icing of names and/or messages on cakes, facing, stocking displays in an efficient and organized manner. Ensures display presentation and stock levels are maintained.

Handles merchandise ensuring quality and minimizing damages and markdowns. Provides substitutions and ensures price integrity including price changes.

Performs general clean up duties such as cleaning spills and display fixtures to ensure a neat and organized department is maintained. Responsible for ensuring the sales floor and back stock area are clean of cardboard and debris, including disposal of garbage.

Performs duties following established Occupational Health & Safety, Food Safety, and Environmental regulations and policies to ensure the health and safety of all staff and customers.

Ensures the proper care, use and maintenance of equipment and tools; and reports repair requirements to the Bakery Supervisor, Manager or Duty Manager.

Responsible for all aspects of ordering merchandise and supplies.

Responsible for all aspects of receiving including reviewing / verifying invoices, returns, transfers, claims and proper storage of products.

Assists in organizing and conducting inventory
