Overview

Join our dedicated team as a Support Worker / Instructor Therapist, where you will play a vital role in empowering an individual to achieve their full potential. This rewarding position involves providing compassionate, empathetic support, implementing tailored therapeutic activities and programming (ABA), and assisting with clients' daily routines. In this role, you will work directly with a client to help them increase their daily life skills, language, and overall independence at home and in the community.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver personalized support and implement ABA program interventions (under the supervision of BCBA's/ RBA's).
  • Support client skill development in communication, life skills, and daily living routines.
  • Collect and record accurate data on progress, behaviour, and responses to interventions to inform ongoing care plans.
  • Record daily documentation and session notes for team members and family to review.
  • Collaborate with other professionals and families to develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to individual needs.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment by adhering to health and safety protocols and safeguarding policies.
  • Openness to support a client in-person in home and community settings, including but not limited to recreational activities including biking, walking, hiking, etc.
  • Monitor medication administration procedures and report any concerns or irregularities promptly.

Requirements

  • Willing to work a variety of shifts (daytime, evenings, & weekends) on rotation.
  • Attend bi-weekly team meetings and training workshops (quarterly)
  • Experience working with adults in educational, healthcare, or support settings is highly desirable
  • Diploma or Degree (considered an asset)
  • Knowledge of ABA Principles, and/or a willingness to learn how to implement ABA programming.
  • Strong communication and organizational skills (i.e., planning community activities based on the client's personal goals and interests).
  • Competence in data collection methods to track progress accurately and contribute to care planning
  • Compassionate attitude combined with patience, adaptability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving
  • Vulnerable Sector Check (obtained within the last 6 months)
  • First Aid & CPR (or willingness to obtain within 3 months)
  • ASSET: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record with 3 years of driving history (if you plan to drive).

**This is a contractor role. This means there are no T4S or deductions (e.g., EI, CPP, etc.).

Pay: $28.00-$35.00 per hour
