Overview
As a RAAM-designated clinic, Aegis Medical is committed to ensuring supportive, compassionate and respectful medical care for all patients living with an addiction. At Aegis Medical, we believe in using a comprehensive approach of medication-assisted treatment (including medications such as Suboxone, methadone, or naltrexone) as well as an array of complementary psychosocial tools, including counselling.

* Previous experience as an addiction physician would be considered an asset

* Must be licensed with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of British Columbia

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough assessments of patients with substance use disorders, including medical history and physical examinations
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that incorporate medication management and counseling referrals
  • Monitor patient progress through ongoing evaluations and adjust treatment protocols as necessary
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to coordinate comprehensive care, including mental health and social services
  • Educate patients and their families about addiction, recovery options, and relapse prevention strategies
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient interactions, treatment plans, and progress notes in compliance with healthcare regulations
  • Collect and analyze data related to patient outcomes to improve treatment efficacy and program effectiveness
  • Stay current with advancements in addiction medicine, including new medications, therapies, and best practices

Experience

  • Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution with valid licensure to practice medicine in British Columbia
  • Strong background in patient care within addiction or mental health specialties
  • Familiarity with medical terminology relevant to addiction medicine and general healthcare practice
  • Experience in data collection and analysis related to clinical outcomes or quality improvement initiatives
