Parts Inventory Assistant

Maxim Truck & Trailer

1860 Brookside Blvd

Winnipeg, MB

Do you have experience in managing inventory and in an office environment? If so, this could be he role for you! In this role, you will work to reduce obsolete inventory, oversee core parts, assist with annual inventories, and look for process improvements to help reduce costs for Maxim. You will be involved in ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction while building long-term relationships with parts suppliers.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30PM with partial Saturday hours twice per month.

Responsibilities

Physical Inventories:

  • Assists with physical inventories for all Maxim parts locations.
  • Ensures proper preparation and count procedures.

Core Administration:

  • Oversees core returns, eligibility, and credits.
  • Reconciles core schedules and resolves any core issues with vendors.

Obsolescence

  • Extracts information from the data warehouse and creates a variety of reports for analysis.
  • Returns products based on inventory turns and sales.
  • Aids to assess and devise methods to return and reduce inventory.

Inventory Control:

  • Updates and maintains system information, looking for process improvements and methods of lowering overall cost.
  • Runs comparisons between vendor costs vs system data.

Parts Return Administration:

  • Oversees vendor returns, eligibility, and credits.
  • Reconciles schedules and resolves any issues with vendors.

Qualifications

  • 1 + years conducting physical inventories and reducing obsolete inventory
  • 1 + years with general office administration
  • Background in a multi-branch, retail environment preferred
  • Knowledge of heavy-duty parts or similar industry preferred
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement methods an asset
  • Communicates effectively with varying levels of people
  • Ability to build relationships and negotiate with vendors
  • Organized, sets priorities, and meets deadlines
  • Aptitude for numbers, pays attention to details
  • Fact finding and analytical skills
  • Proficient with MS Excel with ability to learn in-house computer system
  • Ability to work independently with little supervision
  • Knowledge of Karmak an asset

Other: Ability to travel to conduct inventories; approximately 3 times per year, 3 to 4 days per trip.
