Full job description

Sky Building Restoration Inc. is seeking a highly organized and motivated Abatement / Environmental / Restoration Coordinator to oversee and coordinate environmental remediation, abatement, and emergency restoration projects from initiation to completion. This role is responsible for ensuring projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and in compliance with all applicable health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The successful candidate will work closely with field crews, subcontractors, consultants, clients, and management to support operational excellence across all restoration and environmental services.

Key Responsibilities

1. Project Planning, Scheduling & Execution

  • Lead the planning, coordination, and execution of restoration, remediation, and abatement projects while ensuring timelines, milestones, and deliverables are achieved.
  • Develop and maintain project schedules, adjusting timelines based on site conditions, emergency response requirements, and client needs.
  • Coordinate and oversee multiple projects simultaneously, including emergency response services related to fire, flood, mould, asbestos, and environmental hazards.
  • Ensure projects are completed in accordance with scope, specifications, company standards, and regulatory requirements.

2. Site Supervision & Operations

  • Oversee day-to-day site operations to ensure work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with project requirements.
  • Supervise and support crews performing mould remediation, asbestos abatement, demolition, environmental cleaning, and restoration services.
  • Coordinate subcontractors, technicians, suppliers, and equipment to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Act as the primary site contact and decision-maker to resolve operational issues, delays, and changing site conditions.

3. Documentation & Reporting

  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of all project documentation, including daily reports, hazard assessments, permits, inspection records, and regulatory documentation.
  • Maintain detailed project logs related to labour, materials, equipment usage, site conditions, and project progress.
  • Document damage assessments using photos, measurements, sketches, and written observations for internal records and client reporting.
  • Prepare and provide regular project updates to management, clients, consultants, and other stakeholders.

4. Communication & Coordination

  • Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams, clients, consultants, subcontractors, insurance representatives, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead site meetings and coordinate communication among all project stakeholders.
  • Resolve site concerns, operational challenges, and client issues in a professional and timely manner.
  • Collaborate with emergency response, reconstruction, commercial, and other operational divisions as required.

5. Budget & Resource Management

  • Monitor project budgets, track costs, and identify variances to support financial targets and project profitability.
  • Coordinate labour, materials, equipment, and subcontractors to optimize efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Assist with estimating, forecasting, procurement, and resource planning as needed.

6. Quality Control, Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure compliance with all applicable Ontario health and safety regulations, environmental legislation, and industry standards related to abatement and restoration services.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to maintain quality standards and identify deficiencies or safety concerns.
  • Enforce strict adherence to safety procedures, including PPE requirements, containment protocols, hazardous material handling, and decontamination procedures.
  • Identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies to maintain safe and compliant job sites.

7. Abatement & Emergency Restoration Oversight

  • Coordinate and oversee mould remediation, lead and asbestos abatement projects, ensuring proper containment, removal, transportation, and disposal procedures are followed.
  • Supervise emergency response services, including water damage mitigation, structural drying, fire and smoke restoration, and environmental clean-up activities.
  • Coordinate controlled demolition and material removal activities in preparation for restoration or reconstruction.
  • Oversee contents handling, inventory, cleaning, and restoration activities where applicable.

8. Leadership & Continuous Improvement

  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and guidance to field staff, technicians, and labourers.
  • Promote a culture of safety, accountability, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Participate in ongoing training and remain current with industry standards, certifications, technologies, and best practices.

9. Other Related Duties

  • Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned to support company operations and project success.

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Experience in environmental remediation, restoration, abatement, construction coordination, or related industries preferred.
  • Knowledge of mould remediation, asbestos abatement, water damage restoration, and emergency response procedures.
  • Strong understanding of Ontario health and safety regulations and environmental compliance requirements.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in fast-paced environments.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and project management/documentation software.
  • Valid driver’s license with the ability to travel to project sites as required.
  • IICRC, IHSA asbestos, mould remediation, or environmental-related certifications are considered an asset.
  • First Aid/CPR certification considered an asset.

Pay: From $45,000.00 per year
