Full job description

About Us

Anchorbase is a venture-backed fintech and automation company helping businesses streamline payments, simplify operations, and boost revenue. Our team is small, focused, and looking to do big things in the payments space. Joining now means you’ll be at the ground floor of growth — gaining real-world sales experience, exposure to the industry, and the opportunity to take on more responsibility as we expand.

The Role

As a Business Development Representative (BDR), you’ll be at the front lines of growth. Your job is to find, connect with, and qualify potential clients — opening the door for our Account Executives to close deals. This role is designed for a recent graduate who’s ready to learn fast, get hands-on experience, and build a foundation for a long-term career in sales, business development, or tech. We’ll be with you every step of the way, helping you build skills and advance your career.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospect & Research: Identify and research businesses that would benefit from our solution.
  • Outreach: Drive outbound activity through calls, emails, and LinkedIn outreach to spark interest.
  • Qualify Leads: Assess inbound and outbound opportunities, ensuring a strong fit before passing to Account Executives.
  • Book Meetings: Secure discovery calls and demos that move deals forward.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with senior sales to sharpen messaging and outreach.
  • Track & Report: Maintain accurate activity and pipeline records in our CRM (HubSpot).
  • Learn & Grow: Absorb sales strategy, objection handling, and industry knowledge daily.

What We’re Looking For

  • Recent graduate (0–2 years’ experience). Degree in Business, Marketing, or Communications preferred but not required.
  • Clear communicator with strong interpersonal skills.
  • Ambitious, resilient, and comfortable with high-volume outreach.
  • Organized, detail-oriented, and motivated to hit targets.
  • Curious about technology, payments, and how businesses run.
  • Thrives in a small, in-office team environment where learning is fast and hands-on.
  • You must be able to work five days a week in our downtown Toronto office.

Why This Role Stands Out

  • Learn fast: Direct mentorship and daily feedback from leadership.
  • Make an impact: Your efforts directly shape company growth.
  • Career acceleration: Build skills in sales, communication, and tech that transfer anywhere.
  • Team environment: Work closely with experienced operators who want you to succeed.
  • Compensation: Competitive base salary + performance-based bonuses.

We believe attitude beats experience. In your application, tell us why you think you might be a good fit!

Pay: $45,000.00-$65,000.00 per year

  • Casual dress
  • On-site gym
