Junior Financial Analyst (Tax & Audit)


Location: Toronto, ON
Job Type: Full-time
Schedule: Monday to Friday

About the Role


We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Financial Analyst (Tax & Audit) to join our growing team. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or an early-career professional with 1–3 years of experience in public accounting. You'll gain hands-on experience supporting tax compliance, audit engagements, financial reporting, and client accounting services while working alongside experienced professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with the preparation of corporate (T2), personal (T1), and trust tax returns.
  • Support audit, review, and compilation engagements by preparing working papers and audit documentation.
  • Prepare financial statements in accordance with ASPE.
  • Perform account reconciliations and analyze financial data.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
  • Prepare GST/HST and other tax filings.
  • Research accounting and tax issues and support senior team members.
  • Communicate with clients to obtain financial information and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure work is completed accurately and within established deadlines.
  • Contribute to process improvements and maintain organized client files.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in public accounting, tax, or audit.
  • Experience preparing tax returns and supporting assurance engagements.
  • Strong understanding of Canadian accounting principles (ASPE).
  • Working toward a CPA designation is considered an asset.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with CaseWare, TaxPrep, QuickBooks, Sage, or similar accounting software is an asset.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
