Job Description


The Business Development Representative is responsible for securing new business opportunities and
increasing revenue by identifying, developing and closing promising leads. This role primarily involves
engaging with the waste management sectors within their assigned territory.

The core focus of this position is the sale of waste management services throughout Ontario with a
greater emphasis on GTA East and Southeastern Ontario.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage sales activities within the territory (with customer meetings &/or other presentations);
  • Identify new waste management sales opportunities and services in this territory;
  • Assist in promoting planned marketing initiatives for target customers in this sector;
  • Evaluate the needs and expectations of clients in order to establish a productive and long-term business relationship;
  • Take charge of all projects generated by its customers and respond to calls for tenders;
  • Develop solutions to customer needs in partnership with operations;
  • Meet regularly with clients, inform them of our services and ensure proper follow-up to determine client satisfaction (provide feedback as a result of the work);
  • Ensure that all information of the work to be done at the customer is correctly transmitted to operations, customer service and / or technical service, including updating in Sales-Force;
  • Occasionally sample waste streams at the customer's premises and deliver to the laboratory;
  • Document and actively monitor sales opportunities to ensure the maximum conversion of submissions into orders;
  • Promote all of the Company's services to existing customers, including Veolia Resource Solutions;
  • Plan, prospect and develop new clients while providing excellent service to an established customer base;
  • Meet sales objectives set for your area and contribute to the regions success.

Qualifications
  • 3-5 years industry or relevant experience;
  • Experience with Sales Force is an asset;
  • Experience in project management and negotiation of service agreements;
  • Degree in Business, Marketing, or any related fields is an asset;
  • Knowledge of the environmental services industry and industrial businesses is required;
  • Professional attitude and excellent communication skills;
  • Ability to negotiate effectively;
  • Highly organized to effectively communicate with multiple parties and simultaneously handle multiple projects;
  • Able to provide in depth analysis and resolve problems with minimal supervision;
  • Should be able to multitask and meet tight deadlines;
  • Is willing and able to travel out of town as needed;
  • Mature, confident with demonstrated skills in adaptability, teamwork, self-direction and organization;
  • Excellent computer skills;
  • Ability to take on the responsibilities and be the point person on multiple projects;
  • Ability to work with and manage confidential information;
  • Ability to handle a large variety and volume of work while providing exceptional customer service and accuracy;
  • High level of work ethic.

Work Environment:

The incumbent devotes 70% of the time traveling and 30% in an office / home environment or to projects and / or meetings. The position requires occasional exposure to a factory and field environments. The incumbent will visit the facilities of existing and potential customers.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Base Salary: $90,000 - $110,000 annually, plus bonus eligibility
  • Comprehensive benefits package (details to be provided)
  • Travel expenses covered for business development activities
