Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented School Bus Dispatcher to join our team. This role is essential in ensuring the efficient coordination of school bus routes, optimizing schedules, and maintaining clear communication between drivers, schools, and parents. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving abilities, excellent communication skills, and experience in dispatching or logistics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and Schedule Transportation: Efficiently assign and adjust bus routes to ensure safe and timely student transportation.
  • Monitor Daily Operations: Utilize dispatch software to track vehicle locations, manage delays, and optimize routing.
  • Communicate with Key Stakeholders: Serve as the primary point of contact for drivers, school administrators, and families to provide real-time updates and resolve issues.
  • Data Entry & Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate logs of schedules, vehicle assignments, and compliance with safety regulations.
  • Problem-Solving & Emergency Response: Address unforeseen delays, vehicle issues, and weather-related disruptions while ensuring minimal service interruption.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Ensure all transportation operations adhere to company policies and industry safety standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

  • Previous experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation coordination is preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in dispatch software and route management systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills with the ability to handle high-pressure situations.
  • Ability to analyze data and make informed decisions to improve efficiency.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Familiarity with school bus operations, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements is an asset.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or transportation management are a plus.
