Job Overview
Join our dynamic team as a Standby Mine Rescue Support professional, where your proactive approach and leadership skills will be vital in ensuring safety and preparedness in mining operations. In this role, you will serve as a key support figure during emergency situations, providing critical assistance to mine rescue teams and ensuring compliance with safety protocols. Your energetic and motivated attitude will help foster a culture of safety, readiness, and teamwork across the operation. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to life-saving efforts while developing your expertise in emergency management within the mining industry.
This position is Located in Nunavut in a remote camp. Schedules available are 14/14/, 14/7, 21/14, 28/14.
Flights paid, Travel Allowance, Profit share.
Responsibilities
- Act as a standby support team member during mine rescue operations, ready to respond swiftly in emergency scenarios.
- Assist in the preparation, maintenance, and inspection of rescue equipment to ensure readiness at all times.
- Support the coordination of rescue drills and training exercises to enhance team effectiveness and safety awareness.
- Provide leadership by guiding team members through emergency procedures and safety protocols during incidents.
- Communicate effectively with rescue teams, site management, and emergency responders to facilitate smooth operations.
- Maintain detailed records of equipment inspections, training activities, and incident reports for compliance purposes.
- Promote a safety-first environment by encouraging adherence to all safety standards and best practices.
Requirements
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and guide team members under pressure.
- Experience or background in emergency management, first aid, or rescue operations is highly desirable.
- Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with diverse teams and emergency personnel.
- Ability to remain calm, focused, and energetic during high-stress situations.
- Willingness to undergo specialized training related to mine rescue support and safety procedures.
- Physical fitness to perform rescue support duties that may involve lifting, climbing, or operating rescue equipment.
- Commitment to maintaining a safe work environment through diligent adherence to safety protocols.
- Mine Rescue Certificate for either BC, Alberta, or any of the Territories
