We serve a diverse client base including property managers, architects, developers, government agencies, and private owners across the residential, commercial, and institutional sectors. Our team is dedicated to delivering sustainable and cutting-edge engineering designs using the latest technologies and best practices.

Position Summary

BMACTC is currently seeking a skilled and motivated Electrical Technologist to join our team. As a key member of our electrical department, you will be responsible for supporting all aspects of electrical engineering projects—ranging from design and drafting to coordination and construction support—while maintaining strong client relationships and high-quality standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, a strong communicator, and has a proven track record of technical excellence and teamwork in electrical design for building systems.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform electrical load calculations and system designs for commercial, residential, and institutional buildings.
  • Prepare detailed AutoCAD and Revit drawings for lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, and other low voltage systems.
  • Ensure all work complies with relevant codes, standards, and client specifications.
  • Review electrical designs at various project stages to ensure accuracy, completeness, and adherence to internal quality standards.
  • Coordinate with project managers, architects, mechanical engineers, and other consultants.
  • Conduct site visits and provide detailed observation reports during the construction phase to ensure design compliance and support field troubleshooting.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients through effective communication and reliable project delivery.
  • Support business development efforts by contributing to proposals and client meetings as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Diploma or degree in Electrical Engineering Technology from a recognized institution.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical design for buildings (commercial and institutional preferred).
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit for electrical system modeling and drafting.
  • Solid understanding of Canadian Electrical Code (CEC) and relevant local codes.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to work collaboratively in multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with coordination of major projects involving multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.

Additional pay:

  • Bonus pay

Pay: $55,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
