Macklin House Daycare Centre has been providing quality care in York Region for over 25 years.

Macklin House Daycare believes children are competent, capable of complex thinking, curious and rich in potential. Enriched environments, nurturing adult interactions, support, and the freedom to explore are the milestones that enable children to become self-motivated learners.

We endeavor to support children’s social and emotional growth. Trained and nurturing staff promote children’s social and emotional development, recognizing that these are key foundational skills for success later in life. Role modelling, full engagement in children’s play, and environments that are constructed with social and emotional health in mind, are just a few of the ways we do this.

· Provide opportunities to form positive relationship between children and adults

· Facilitate a sense of belonging within the center and the community by providing partnerships with caregivers, parents, and guardians

· Offer a safe and enriched and positive environment for children to play, learn with confidence

· Deliver play opportunities for children to active explore their environment

· Provide experiences that promote exploration through play and inquiry

· Provide children opportunities to create challenge and engage with adults, children, and the environment

WORKING COLLABORATIVELY

PARENTAL INVOLVEMENT

Our goal is to make both children and their parents feel at home with us. We encourage family engagement through daily communication, newsletters, bulletin boards and emails.
We encourage families to join in special events – this is a special time for children, parents, guardians, siblings, and grandparents to come together with us!

QUALIFICATIONS

  • RECE - Early Childhood Educator Diploma/ / OCT with certification/CYW with 2 years experience
  • Work a split shift and be flexible in timings and assignment
  • Good interpersonal skills, able to facilitate communication and relationships with families, other staff, school staff, principals, and caretakers.
  • Legally able to work in Canada
  • Have First Aid/Cpr certification
  • Food Handler Certification

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $27.00-$30.00 per hour

Education:

  • AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Work Location: In person
