MAXIM is Hiring

Sales & Service Coordinator

About Us

MAXIM Environmental and Safety Inc. is a trusted Canadian provider of environmental monitoring and safety equipment. Since 2006, we’ve supported environmental technicians, technologists, and scientists through the sales, rental, and repair of field equipment used for air, soil, noise, and water monitoring. We value technical knowledge, exceptional customer service, and a collaborative, solutions-focused team environment.

At MAXIM, we support growth from within. If you show initiative, stay organized, and take pride in your work, we’ll meet you with training, trust, and opportunities to advance.

Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced Sales & Service Coordinator to join our Mississauga team.

For this hire, we're particularly interested in someone with relevant environmental or technical industry experience who can add further technical depth to our Sales Department. This may come from environmental fieldwork, consulting, technical sales, instrumentation, equipment service, or another closely related environment.

We're especially interested in experience with survey instrumentation, water quality monitoring, gas detection, indoor air quality (IAQ), or sound & noise monitoring.

You'll coordinate rental and sales activity, support Clients through the full order lifecycle, and provide practical guidance on environmental monitoring and safety equipment. We're looking for someone who works confidently and independently, takes ownership of their responsibilities, and can become a trusted technical resource within the department.

What You'll Do

  • Manage Client inquiries, quotes, order accuracy, equipment coordination, and follow-up
  • Prepare and follow up on quotes for instruments, parts, consumables, and accessories, confirming pricing, availability, and Client requirements
  • Help Clients identify appropriate equipment and solutions based on their applications and field requirements
  • Coordinate equipment availability, deliveries, and pick-ups while proactively addressing scheduling or logistics issues
  • Maintain proactive contact with long-term rental Clients and support ongoing equipment requirements
  • Provide practical guidance on equipment selection, operation, applications, and troubleshooting, escalating technical issues when appropriate
  • Maintain accurate ERP records, order notes, and supporting documentation
  • Support broader sales and service operations, including internal communication and service intake
  • Contribute to a professional, organized, and solutions-focused department

What You'll Bring

  • Relevant experience in the environmental, technical, instrumentation, consulting, or equipment industry
  • Hands-on environmental field or technical experience is strongly preferred, including site work, field sampling, equipment operation, technical service, or instrumentation
  • 3–5+ years of overall professional experience, ideally including B2B, technical, field, consulting, or equipment-related work
  • Strong Client service skills with polished phone, email, and in-person communication
  • Practical understanding of technical equipment and how it is used, maintained, and troubleshot in real-world applications
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and follow commitments through to completion
  • A professional, even-keeled approach and the ability to remain organized in a busy environment
  • Comfortable and confident using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Outlook, and Word
  • Familiarity with ERP systems such as Sage 50 or Point of Rental is an asset

Technical Experience We're Particularly Interested In

We're looking to broaden the technical knowledge within our Sales Department. Direct experience in one or more of the following areas would be a strong asset:

  • Survey & positioning instrumentation — GPS/GNSS, total stations, data collectors, or related equipment
  • Water quality monitoring — multiparameter instruments, water quality sondes, meters, sampling equipment, or related applications
  • Gas detection — PID/FID instrumentation, multi-gas meters, calibration, or related equipment
  • Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) — IAQ instrumentation, mould, radon, particulate, or related monitoring applications
  • Sound & noise monitoring — sound level meters, noise dosimetry, or related instrumentation

Experience with soil vapour/sub-slab vapour monitoring, groundwater monitoring, remediation, environmental sampling, or other environmental field applications is also valued.

We're particularly interested in people who can bring additional technical knowledge and perspective to our environmental equipment team.

Work Environment

  • Fully in-office position; remote work is not available
  • Approximately 70% administrative/desk and computer work and 30% physical or hands-on equipment/order support
  • Occasional lifting up to 45 lbs., reaching, bending, and ladder work required

To Apply

Please submit your resume and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and suitability for the role.

We are particularly interested in hearing about any direct experience you have with survey instrumentation, water quality monitoring, gas detection, IAQ, sound & noise monitoring, or other environmental monitoring equipment and applications.

Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted. Applicants must be able to reliably commute to our Mississauga office before starting.
