Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Logistics Specialist to join our team. This position is based on-site, out of Mississauga. This is a new position
We are seeking professionals to join our team to help us build one of the most advanced, sustainable and passenger-friendly airports in the world.
To perform this role successfully, the individual will be responsible for but not limited to the following:
- Responsible for the acquisition, warehousing and delivery of all parts, equipment, services and supplies according to company standards and specifications at competitive prices.
- Works under general direction.
- Works with the Company logistics systems and processes.
- Understands logistics terminology, measures, concepts and principles.
- Recognizes logistics processes/project actions that may impact the project.
- Utilizes schedules in the establishment of logistics milestones.
- Prepares evaluation of freight forwarders’ capabilities and Requests for Quotations for logistics and freight forwarding services.
- Contacts freight forwarders for timely submittal of logistics bids.
- Tabulates transportation/logistics bids and assists in performing the bid analysis price and cost analysis, and establishing cost reasonableness.
- Assists in contacting freight forwarders for clarifications.
- Maintains documentation of the logistics process.
- Assists in the preparation of negotiation strategy and may participate in negotiation meetings with freight forwarders.
- Assists in the preparation of client approval packages prior to award.
- Prepares logistics agreements.
- Assists in the evaluation of disputes with shippers and freight forwarders.
- Supports review of invoices and resolution of discrepancies.
- Supports monitoring performance of shippers and freight forwarders.
- Assists in the preparation of logistics reports.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, candidates must possess, at a very minimum:
-
University Degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or Diploma certificate with 8 plus years of relevant experience.
Demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education may be considered.
Preferred Requirement:
- Typically, a minimum of 6 years of professional experience in a relevant
logistics role which could include interface coordination, material delivery, traffic management, or laydown area coordination.
- Minimum 5 years of professional experience in large international airport projects or equivalent infrastructure programs is considered an asset.
- Demonstrable experience in the logistics field relevant to the role, interface coordination, material delivery, traffic management, or laydown area coordination.
- Strong technical capability in all project phases, including design, planning, construction, operations, and maintenance preferably large program/projects.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills including the ability to facilitate meeting / workshops with large groups of stakeholders.
- Recognized degree and professional designation are considered an asset.

This position requires work on-site/out of the office 5 days a week.
