Job Overview
We are seeking a dependable and motivated Dishwasher/Kitchen Helper to join our busy food service team. This role is essential in maintaining a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment. The ideal candidate will support food preparation and service operations, ensuring all dishes and kitchenware are properly cleaned and sanitized. Previous kitchen or restaurant experience is a plus, but we welcome applicants eager to learn and grow within the food industry. This position offers an opportunity to develop skills in food handling, safety, and basic meal preparation.

Responsibilities

  • Wash dishes, pots, pans, utensils, and kitchen equipment promptly and thoroughly to maintain cleanliness standards
  • Assist with basic meal preparation and food handling as needed
  • Support the kitchen staff with food prep tasks such as chopping, assembling ingredients, or organizing supplies
  • Ensure all food service areas are clean, sanitized, and organized at all times
  • Help with waste disposal and recycling procedures in accordance with safety guidelines
  • Maintain a safe and hygienic workspace by adhering to food safety protocols
  • Assist in setting up dining areas or serving stations when required
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment for staff and customers

Qualifications

  • Prior experience in food service, restaurant work, or kitchen environments is preferred but not required
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures is advantageous
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
  • Strong teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards assisting others
  • Willingness to learn new skills related to meal preparation and food service operations
  • Ability to stand for extended periods and perform physical tasks such as lifting heavy pots or moving supplies safely
  • Basic understanding of kitchen cleanliness practices and safety regulations
