The Opportunity

Community Living Toronto is seeking a seasoned Manager, Occupational Health & Safety (OHS) & Disability Case Management, who combines strong technical expertise with the ability to influence leaders, navigate complex workplace issues, and foster a proactive safety culture across a diverse organization. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Employee & Labour Relations, this role provides leadership for enterprise-wide occupational health, safety, wellness, infection prevention, and disability management programs across a complex multi-site environment.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

· Leading the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of enterprise-wide health, safety, wellness, and disability management programs.

· Serving as the organization’s subject matter expert on occupational health and safety legislation, regulatory compliance, and disability management practices.

· Ensuring compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA), Workplace Safety and Insurance Act (WSIA), Quality Assurance Measures (QAM), and related legislation.

· Leading audits, risk assessments, prevention initiatives, and continuous improvement activities across the organization.

· Monitoring and reporting on prevention-focused health and safety metrics to support organizational decision-making.

· Overseeing the full lifecycle management of WSIB, Short-Term Disability (STD), and Long-Term Disability (LTD) claims.

· Leading accommodation and early and safe return-to-work programs in partnership with leaders, employees, healthcare providers, and insurers.

· Analyzing attendance, injury, and disability trends to identify opportunities to reduce organizational risk and improve outcomes.

· Providing leadership for biological, physical, and chemical safety programs, including infection prevention and control initiatives.

· Acting as a key liaison with the Ministry of Labour, WSIB, Toronto Public Health, insurance providers, and other external stakeholders.

· Providing strategic direction to wellness initiatives, including the Wellness Committee and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

· Building productive relationships with operational leaders, union representatives, employees, and regulatory partners.

What You Bring

· Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Health Sciences, or a related field.

· 5–7 years of progressive Occupational Health & Safety leadership experience, including responsibility for health and safety programs, disability management, WSIB administration, return-to-work programs, and regulatory compliance.

· CRSP designation is considered an asset.

· Demonstrated experience influencing operational leaders and driving safety outcomes in complex, multi-site organizations.

· Strong experience managing WSIB, STD, LTD, accommodation, and return-to-work programs.

· Experience leading within unionized and non-unionized environments.

· Strong knowledge of Ontario health and safety legislation and best practices.

· Exceptional communication, consultation, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills.

· Experience interacting with regulatory bodies, insurers, and external stakeholders is considered an asset.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Office applications.
