Job Description: The Executive Director, Medical Imaging, is a senior leadership role responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership for medical imaging services across the Saskatchewan Health Authority. Reporting to the Vice President Provincial Clinical and Support Services, the Executive Director leads the development of an integrated provincial approach to medical imaging that improves timely access, strengthens quality and safety, and supports consistent and sustainable service delivery across Saskatchewan.

The Executive Director shapes the future direction of medical imaging by identifying service pressures, capacity requirements, technology and infrastructure needs, workforce challenges and opportunities for innovation. The role translates provincial priorities into operational and business plans and provides oversight for their implementation, performance monitoring and continuous improvement. A key focus is optimizing provincial capacity, improving patient flow and wait times, and ensuring resources are aligned with clinical needs and system priorities.

The Executive Director leads provincial planning and coordination across imaging services, supporting consistent standards, practices and service expectations. Working within a rapidly evolving diagnostic environment, the Executive Director advances innovative approaches that strengthen imaging services and their critical contribution to diagnosis, treatment planning and patient care.

Through collaborative leadership, the Executive Director fosters an inclusive, innovative and high-performing provincial culture grounded in the SHA’s CARES values of Compassion, Accountability, Respect, Equity and Safety. The role works closely with radiologists, medical radiation technologists, sonographers, clinical and operational leaders, government, regulatory and educational partners, and other health-system stakeholders to build a coordinated provincial medical imaging system that delivers safe, timely and high-quality services for the people of Saskatchewan.

Education:

  • Graduate/ Masters level or equivalent combination of experience and education
  • Licensed and in good standing with professional association and/or regulatory body, if applicable.

Experience:

  • Extensive experience, at a strategic level, as a leader who has developed and led innovative planning and programs in a complex, multi-stakeholder environment
  • 10+ years in a leadership position with progressive advancement
