Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Workflow and Microservices Lead to join our dynamic team. The successful candidate will be instrumental in designing, developing, and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure applications using cutting-edge technologies. This role requires a strong understanding of Case management, Workflow (Business Process Management BPMN, Case management CMN), and Rules (Decision model DMN, Business Rules engine BRE) practices, as well as low-code platforms, contributing significantly to our core platforms and services. The candidate will be expected to code and deliver daily.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the full lifecycle (design, development, automation, deployment, maintenance) and architectural evolution of robust Case management, workflow, and rules solutions.
  • Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to integrate functions, define system enhancements, and ensure alignment with business goals.
  • Provide advanced technical expertise, define coding and implementation standards, and drive innovative solutions by integrating in-depth business and technical understanding.
  • Conduct mandated code reviews and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Integrate workflows seamlessly with Citi’s internal systems using available tools and capabilities.
  • Mentor and coach other developers and analysts.

Qualifications:

Experience & Expertise

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience in workflow and Business Process Management (BPM) platforms and related technologies.
  • At least 2-3 enterprise implementations with IBM BAM/BPM; experience in Fluxnova and Pega is a plus.
  • Proven ability to set the strategic direction for and deliver end-to-end workflows that integrate seamlessly with operational data systems at enterprise scale.
  • Extensive experience in building scalable, distributed, highly available systems.
  • Ability to design and implement cost-effective, scalable solutions for the firm.
  • Meticulous approach to delivering testable, maintainable, scalable, and configurable code.
  • Deep real-world experience in BPM integration deliveries of enterprise software systems using industry-standard environments and OOB API with customization.

Technical Acumen

  • Proficiency in Java, Spring Boot with practical experience applying it to build and maintain software applications in a professional environment.
  • Strong foundation in relational and non-relational databases (e.g., Oracle, MongoDB etc.) and data modeling for transactional systems.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and messaging platforms (e.g., Kafka, MQ).
  • Solid understanding of RESTful API design principles, with a focus on reliability, security, and performance.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree/University degree or equivalent experience
  • Master’s degree preferred
