We are currently recruiting for a Full-time Server!

Job Summary:

As the primary contact with our guests, a server takes orders and delivers food and beverages. This position provides support for the setup, preparation, and serving and clean up associated with all meal or event services. The area of responsibility includes dining areas, event space and private resident deliveries. The server is responsible for all transactional requirements including billing and payment processing for our resident guests and clients.

Job Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Prepares mise-en-place; sets up and clears tables/sunbeds in the work area
• Maintains high standards of hygiene and orderliness
• Provides genuine hospitality and recognition, acts as host/hostess in the work area.
• Takes orders for, serves (where applicable, prepares) food and beverages to residents, guests and staff as per company standards in a friendly, timely and efficient manner
• Possesses a high degree of product knowledge and relevant technical skills
• Anticipates guest needs, offers suggestions and ascertains satisfaction
• Takes ownership of guest concerns and requests and acts decisively to ensure guest satisfaction when glitches occur
• Describes food & beverage menu items with interesting and vivid descriptions in a concise, informative and appropriate manner
• Is highly sensitive to guest preferences; assists in compiling guest history; offers a special service touch when an opportunity is presented
• Requisitions supplies according to established procedures
• Accurately posts guest checks, processes payments and adheres to related control procedures in a vigilant manner
• Perform light food duties including bread, salad, appetizers and dessert preparation
• Check food and beverage for quality and presentation before serving each guest
• Deliver wine to table with appropriate glassware and demonstrate proper wine service techniques
• Complete side duties as required including polishing silverware, glassware etc.
• Understand and comply with health and safety legislation and departmental safe job procedures
• To be knowledgeable of the Resident Rights & Responsibilities and respect and promote the policies
• To attend staff meetings as required to be aware of changes in Residence that have taken place
• To participate in the Quality Improvement Program
• To uphold and promote the organization’s values and philosophy relating particularly to ethics, morality and integrity
• To complete all other tasks as assigned
• Set up and break down of daily morning buffet
• Assist in set up with any buffet function set up and break down
• Monitor hydration stations

Requirements:

• Must possess good written and oral communication skills
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and customer focus skills
• Basic computer proficiency and experience required
• Current (within 6 months) Police Clearance
• Current (within 1 year) influenza vaccination record
• Must possess a Food Safety Certificate and ProServe Certification
• Basic wine knowledge preferred
• Has 1 -2 years of relevant experience in hotels/resorts or reputable stand-alone restaurants
• Must be able to stand for long periods of time
• Multitask in a fast-paced environment
• Perform moderate physical activities, including climbing, lifting (up to 40 lbs/18 kg), balancing, walking, and handling materials
• Must able to carry trays filled with multiple dishes and drinks
• Must deliver food to client’s room in timely manner
