Service Desk / Onsite Desktop Support Technician

Location: Waterloo, Kitchener, or Cambridge, Ontario
Work Type: Hybrid — work from home plus onsite client support
Employment Type: Full-Time
Scheduling: 1–2 days (Tuesdays and Thursdays) per week On-site in Waterloo, For other days it will be remote shift in Evening. Weekend coverage required.

Role Summary

Buchanan Technologies is seeking a Service Desk / Onsite Desktop Support Technician to support our internal service desk team while also providing onsite desktop support for our client.

The ideal candidate will be a service desk technician, comfortable working independently in a client-facing onsite environment. Strong communication, professionalism, and the ability to explain technical issues to non-technical users are critical for success in this role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite desktop support 1–2 days per week.
  • Support end users with hardware, software, peripheral, and connectivity issues.
  • Troubleshoot and replace peripherals including monitors, keyboards, mice, cables, and related equipment.
  • Assist with device provisioning, setup, and deployment.
  • Perform routine device patch compliance checks and remediation.
  • Install approved applications and support basic software troubleshooting.
  • Assist with vendor-related onsite activities as needed.
  • Support service desk tickets while working remotely.
  • Document tickets clearly and accurately.
  • Work independently onsite while receiving supervision from the Service Delivery Manager.
  • Deliver a positive, professional customer experience for client users.

  • Ability to work from home and travel onsite to Waterloo as scheduled.
  • Local to Waterloo, Kitchener, or Cambridge preferred.

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
