Responsibilities

  • Safely operate commercial vehicles, including trucks and vans, to deliver freight efficiently across designated routes.
  • Load and unload freight using equipment such as forklifts or hand trucks, ensuring proper handling and secure placement of goods.
  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and heavy equipment to ensure optimal performance and safety compliance.
  • Verify delivery orders, documentation, and freight manifests before departure and upon arrival at destinations.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatchers, warehouse staff, and customers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve issues promptly.
  • Maintain accurate records of deliveries, vehicle maintenance logs, and safety inspections.
  • Assist with minor automotive repairs or troubleshooting as needed to keep vehicles in top condition.

Qualifications

  • Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment such as forklifts or other industrial machinery is preferred.
  • Knowledge of freight handling procedures and safety protocols.
  • Ability to perform basic automotive repairs or troubleshooting when necessary.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for documentation accuracy.
  • Physical ability to lift heavy items, stand for extended periods, and perform manual tasks safely.
  • Prior experience in commercial driving or logistics is advantageous but not mandatory; training will be provided.
