Role Overview

The AMS Team acts as a liaison between IFDS clients and SS&C to ensure there is a clear understanding of client needs/requirements and provides oversight for project related deliverables on behalf of clients. The Business Systems Consultant will work closely with the Manager-Business Analysis to provide Subject Matter Expertise with respect to our Clients, Industry, Products, Systems, Business Process, Regulations and BA Best Practices.

The incumbent will be a key participant in the project life cycle (inception to production) of assigned projects, liaise between our clients and internal development teams, gather and document requirements, facilitate the building or modifications of our applications to meet client and industry needs. Business Analysts are also engaged in new client launches, conversions, activation of products/functionality, and support of Production issues as required.

Role Responsibilities

  • Provide subject matter expertise regarding industry, industry standards Finance/Banking industry, particularly in the
  • Mutual Fund/Transfer agency/Trust Accounting/Fundserv domains
  • Evaluate and present information that will facilitate timely decision making through written and oral communication materials that effectively summarize findings with recommendations
  • Work closely with internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are clearly understood and consistently interpreted
  • Ensure all changes result in effective and maintainable business solutions
  • Elicit and translate customer requirements or regulations into comprehensive, complete and accurate business, functional and non-functional requirements
  • Have strong understanding of process flows, requirements gathering techniques, conducting structured analysis, data modeling, process mapping, Software Development and Project Management Life Cycle
  • Identify functional or operational gaps through competitive analysis, research, monitoring industry trends and prioritizing customer’s requests
  • Contribute to the implementation of new products and communicate effectively between internal and external stakeholders to ensure product satisfaction is maintained
  • Document business artifacts utilizing industry best practices to ensure usability, scalability, maintainability
  • Participate in project walkthroughs: business requirements, user stories, products demos, design, functional test plans and implementation sessions
  • Deliver on assignments within the required timeframes and escalate to the project team members in an effective and timely manner
  • Participate in product documentation including user and implementation guides
  • Provide expertise on projects within the program and liaise with stakeholders, clients and project team as required
  • Ensure team is following defined processes and best practices and provide input for continual improvement on business analysis methodology, processes and templates
  • Provide input into business analysis documentation standards and tools
  • Actively assess risks, provide mitigation plan and escalate issues to management
  • Participate in project walkthroughs: business requirements, design, user guides, functional test plans and implementation sessions
  • Demonstrate superior flexibility in the face of ambiguous situations, shifting demands and challenging work environments

Minimum Qualifications

  • 5-7 years related experience
  • University degree or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrate excellent time management skills, ability to multi-task, self-direction, and prioritize
  • Strong understanding of QESI, RESP, Locked in Plans, Segregated fund and Guaranteed investment product knowledge
  • Understanding of the regulatory bodies governing client product offering and industry best practices. For example: CLHIA, CSA/OSC, CRA/MRQ, Fundserv, CIRO and SIMA
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience with Agile methodology
  • Have strong business and system analytical skills - able to analyze and solve problems
  • Exceptional ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Excellent facilitation and negotiation skills
  • Highly skilled at multitasking and prioritizing tasks
  • Ability to foster and build relationships, engage and influence

Salary Range

Pay Range (CAD $): 105,000 - 132,000

The above reflects an industry-benchmarked target compensation range. The salary offered may vary based upon the candidate’s skills and experience, job-related knowledge, and other specific business needs.
