Job Description

ALUULA is developing the next generation of ultra-lightweight, high-performance composite materials. Our materials are redefining what is possible through innovative material science and product design. We are looking for a motivated Co-op Student to join our R&D team and support laboratory testing, SOP-controlled workflows, and simple data reporting.

This role is focused on supporting early-stage R&D through hands-on testing, careful sample preparation, accurate data capture, and clear reporting. Working with our early-stage R&D team, you will perform testing protocols, follow documented SOPs, organize results, and communicate observations that help the team evaluate material and process performance.

Key Responsibilities

· Perform routine laboratory testing according to established protocols and SOPs.

· Prepare samples, set up equipment, and record test conditions, results, and observations accurately.

· Enter, organize, and summarize test results using Excel or approved reporting templates.

· Follow safety practices, lab procedures, documentation requirements, and escalation processes.

· Flag unusual results, equipment issues, or deviations from SOPs to the project lead.

· Support sample organization, lab tidiness, and basic equipment maintenance documentation.

Qualifications

· Currently enrolled in a co-op program in Materials Science, Chemistry, Engineering, Physics, Textile Technology, or related technical discipline.

· Comfortable working safely in a hands-on laboratory environment and following step-by-step procedures.

· Strong attention to detail and interest in materials testing, data quality, and documentation.

· Basic Excel skills, including entering data, organizing tables, and preparing simple summaries or plots.

· Ability to quickly learn and apply new testing methods, SOPs, software tools, and equipment workflows.

· Strong communication and organizational skills, with willingness to ask questions and document work clearly.

· Previous lab, polymer, composite, textile, or technical coursework experience is considered an asset.
