Full job description

Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Bakery Assistant to join our vibrant bakery team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for food preparation and baking, with a focus on delivering high-quality baked goods and exceptional customer service. This role offers an exciting opportunity to develop skills in the food industry, including cake decorating, food handling, and packaging, within a fast-paced and creative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing a variety of baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and cookies
  • Perform cake decorating and food presentation to meet quality standards
  • Support food safety protocols and proper food handling procedures at all times
  • Package baked items efficiently for retail display or customer orders
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and work areas
  • Operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively during food preparation
  • Provide excellent customer service by assisting customers with product selections and inquiries
  • Follow recipes accurately and contribute to maintaining consistent product quality
  • Support the team during busy periods by helping with additional food preparation tasks

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in a bakery, restaurant, or food service environment is preferred
  • Knowledge of baking techniques, cake decorating, and food safety standards is advantageous
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions precisely
  • Excellent customer service skills with a friendly and professional demeanor
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining quality standards
  • Basic kitchen experience including food preparation, cooking, and packaging skills
  • Food handling certification or willingness to obtain certification is a plus
  • Reliable team player with good communication skills and a positive attitude

Pay: $17.60-$21.00 per hour
