Reporting to the National Human Resources Manager, the Talent Acquisition Manager will play a key role in devising and executing our company's talent strategy to ensure growth and success. This role operates on a full-time, in-office basis from Monday to Friday.
Role Overview
As the National Talent Acquisition Manager, you will spearhead company-wide talent acquisition efforts, oversee the recruiting team, and work alongside key stakeholders to shape and execute our talent strategy. This role demands operational expertise, business acumen, and a strong commitment to our mission. As a proactive leader with a deep understanding of recruitment best practices, you will guide hiring managers on best practices and ensure the company’s recruitment operations continue to evolve.

Key Responsibilities:
- Identify critical roles within the company, develop talent pipelines, and implement strategies to attract, hire, and retain top candidates.
- Lead Blackbird Security’s Talent Acquisition strategy to align staffing efforts with organizational goals.
- Develop and maintain standardized recruitment processes, interview guides, and assessments.
- Manage recruitment-related budgets, ensuring cost-effective strategies.
- Build a strong talent pipeline by leveraging company branding, social media, employee referrals, networking events, and partnerships with educational institutions.
- Actively participate in and oversee career fairs and execute recruitment events.
- Provide consultative value on talent acquisition to organizational leaders, acting as the subject matter expert on recruitment processes, market trends, and competitive intelligence.
- Lead, manage, coach, and develop a high-performing recruitment team to ensure Blackbird Security's hiring goals are achieved.
- Oversee performance management, mentoring, and coaching team members to foster professional growth. This includes adjusting work processes and schedules as necessary to meet staffing requirements.
- Create and uphold effective recruitment policies and procedures to ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
- Maintain a strong understanding of client sites and collaborate with the Operations team to align staffing efforts with client contracts and operational needs.
- Implement changes to the Applicant Tracking System (ATS) and recommend changes.
- Generate reports and track recruitment metrics. Provide data-driven insights to improve recruiting efficiency and effectiveness.
- Actively manage and oversee the full cycle recruitment process for all open positions.
- Maintain strong candidate relationships by ensuring timely feedback, follow-up, and a positive candidate experience.
- Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, conduct interviews, and make recommendations for final decisions for various positions.
- Oversee the new hire orientation process, ensuring seamless transitions for new employees into their roles.
- Coordinate with hiring managers for employee onboarding and initial setup as required.
- Identify and implement new recruitment methods and strategies to engage top talent.
- Stay updated on relevant legislation, and market trends and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Track recruitment activity, costs, and expenses for open positions.
- Train employees and ensure they are equipped to perform their roles effectively.
- Generate, report and analyze recruitment metrics and maintain benchmarks to continuously improve the talent acquisition process.
- Ensure all recruitment practices comply with local employment laws and competitive compensation trends.
- Ensure all recruitment activities comply with company policies and procedures.
- Take on duties as assigned, consistent with qualifications and business needs.
Job Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing scalable programs from start to finish, with a strong ability to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
- Minimum 2 years of experience mentoring and coaching recruitment teams in a high-volume recruiting environment.
- Minimum 3-5 years of proven experience in talent acquisition, with a track record of successful hiring across different levels.
- Successful completion of a University Degree or Community College Diploma in Human Resources, Business/Public Administration or related discipline and Certified Human Resources Professional (CHRP) designation in progress or approved.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Highly resilient and able to work under pressure.
- Ability to work independently with strong self-motivation, attention to detail, and excellent organizational skills.
- Updated knowledge of relevant Employment and Human Rights legislation.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in provinces across Canada.
- Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the security industry.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
