Job Summary

Our client is looking for a Specialist Project Commercial - Services (Contract Specialist) to join their team in Vancouver. This opportunity could be Vancouver office-based or WFH.

Duties

  • Responsible for day-to-day procurement of services (e.g Studies, Engineering, Consulting, and ad-hoc site services)
  • Support the Logistics Lead preparing Variations and/or establishing new agreements for transportation and warehousing services
  • Support the Business Readiness Lead preparing Variations and/or establishing new agreements for equipment spares
  • Prepare individual package strategies aligned with project objectives for major packages
  • Prepare and issue tender documentation, meeting the project and individual package requirements
  • Manage all bid clarifications, evaluate bids, negotiate T&Cs and draft recommendations to award
  • Conform the contract documents such as MSAs and standalone Service Agreements
  • Prepare service orders from MSAs and/or establish new agreements for a variety of services as required by the Project
  • Prepare contract variations, extensions of contracts and manage changes till completion of the contract
  • Review invoices in alignment with contractual rates and terms and coordinate/support the payment process
  • Proactively assist and implement effective working relationships with key service providers ensuring of effective delivery of contracted services including clear understanding of expectations for supplier performance for a major project
  • Continuously monitor opportunities to add value and reduce costs through guide negotiation, and maintain timely procurement activities to ensure project remains on time and at budget

Experience

  • Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance
  • P2P SAP Ariba/ERP modules and tools including MS Office Tools. Global process delivery and shared service delivery models, Leading practices, technologies & tools to support procurement service delivery
  • Leading performance standards/ metrics. Regulatory and internal control requirements
  • Proficient level ability to develop and execute Stage Gate requirements
  • Proficient level ability to negotiate contracts (Services, Goods) for capital projects
  • Proficient ability to apply practical knowledge in project commercial management
  • Proficient ability to develop and manage regional contracting strategies for major studies, capital projects, and major sustaining capital projects
  • Advanced skills in effective communication and presentation
  • Advanced skills in persuasion and logical thinking.
  • Advanced skills in analytical thinking
  • Advanced skills in Project Management
  • Advanced negotiation skills across various levels of organizations
  • Competent in key project commercial systems including SAP, SAP Ariba, Aconex, and Contruent

Pay: $56.00-$100.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Vancouver, BC
