We're looking for motivated, ambitious individuals to join our Collections & Legal Team. This role offers hands-on experience in negotiations, legal collections, financial services, and customer relations while working alongside experienced professionals who are committed to your success.

About the Role

This is more than just a collections position—it's an opportunity to build a strong professional foundation.

You'll manage your own portfolio of customer accounts, analyze account histories, negotiate realistic payment solutions, and gain valuable exposure to legal and financial recovery processes. Every day presents new challenges that will strengthen your communication, negotiation, conflict resolution, analytical thinking, and decision-making skills while making a meaningful impact on both our customers and our organization.

Responsibilities

  • Manage an assigned portfolio of customer accounts
  • Contact customers regarding overdue accounts and negotiate payment arrangements
  • Review account histories and recommend appropriate resolutions
  • Prepare legal documents, correspondence, and settlement agreements
  • Process bankruptcies and consumer proposals
  • Conduct skip tracing and asset verification where required
  • Maintain accurate documentation and account records
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve recovery objectives
  • Ensure compliance with applicable legislation, policies, and procedures

Qualifications

  • Recent graduate or 1+ year of experience in collections, legal, financial services, or customer service is an asset
  • Valid G or G2 Driver's Licence
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking abilities
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
  • Comfortable learning new software and using Microsoft Office
  • Paralegal or Law Clerk education is considered an asset, but not required
  • Knowledge of collections legislation is an asset
