Senior Construction Project Manager

Location: Vancouver Island (Mid-Island Region)
Compensation: $120,000–$150,000 per year, based on experience
Job Type: Full-Time, In-Person

About the Company

We are a well-established general contracting and construction management firm operating across Vancouver Island. With a strong track record in multi-residential, commercial, and institutional construction, we pride ourselves on delivering high-quality projects, maintaining strong client relationships, and fostering a collaborative and professional team environment.

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to join our Mid-Island operations and lead major projects from pre-construction through to closeout.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage all phases of construction projects, including budgeting, scheduling, procurement, cost control, and risk management.
  • Lead full-cycle project execution from project startup through turnover, ensuring work meets quality, safety, and performance standards.
  • Prepare accurate estimates and lead all change management processes, including pricing, negotiation, and documentation.
  • Review and interpret drawings, specifications, scopes of work, submittals, and all construction documentation.
  • Administer contracts, oversee subcontractor performance, and support dispute resolution when required.
  • Work closely with site teams to ensure efficient, safe, and coordinated field operations.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, trades, and internal teams.
  • Ensure compliance with company procedures, QC/QA requirements, and all regulatory standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 7+ years of progressive experience in construction project management, including leading projects $10M+ in value.
  • Strong estimating abilities and thorough understanding of construction processes, methodology, and terminology.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Outlook, Excel, Project, Teams) and Bluebeam.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage budgets, schedules, procurement, and subcontractor coordination.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong problem-solving ability and a proactive, team-oriented approach.
  • Experience working in the Vancouver Island market considered a strong asset.
