How long does it take to get hired from start to finish at Fluor Corp.? What are the steps along the way?
Submitting a resume online, job fair, or knowing someone in the business
If going in for an interview at the office a button up shirt and jeans would suffice. Most of us are blue collar workers so a suite is overkill.
I was offered my current Position due to my extensive experience.
It was an opportunity to assist with the Electrical Precommissioning on the first Refinery built in Alberta in 30 years.
My coworkers were enjoyable to work with and extremely helpful.
Upper Management respected my input and efforts.
Travel, accommodations ...remote site.
Reactive work plan, disorganized and poor communication.
Fluors policies favour their staff over contractors which is actually a good thing for the longtime staff employees. No such thing as work/life balance in Calgary with the current and in-going economic climate.
If you are lucky enough to have a job you will be encouraged to sacrifice any personal life you may have in favour of getting the job done no matter how unrealistic the schedule is.
Not an enjoyable climate but if you want the job that’s what is expected.
