Senior Associate – Commercial or Construction Litigation (4+ Years)

Location: Vaughan / Maple, GTA (on-site)

Compensation: $130,000+ base, commensurate with experience, plus bonus potential

A well-established litigation-focused law firm in Vaughan is seeking a Senior Associate – Commercial or Construction Litigation with a minimum of 4 years’ post-call experience to join its growing team.

The role involves managing commercial litigation files from inception through resolution, working closely with partners on complex matters, and taking on increasing responsibility for client relationships and strategy. The successful candidate will be comfortable appearing before the courts, drafting motion materials and pleadings, and advising clients in a practical, commercially focused manner.

Key Responsibilities

· Manage commercial and civil litigation files independently

· Draft pleadings, affidavits, motion materials, and submissions

· Attend court appearances, mediations, and examinations

· Advise clients on litigation strategy, risk, and settlement options

· Collaborate with other lawyers on case strategy

· Mentor junior lawyers and support staff as appropriate

Candidate Profile

· Minimum 4 years’ post-call experience in commercial litigation

· Strong drafting, advocacy, and negotiation skills

· Experience in a litigation-focused practice

· Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines

· Excellent client-facing and interpersonal skills

· Member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario
