Full job description

Field Safety Advisor / Safety Administrator

Coastal Safety Consulting Ltd. is looking for a Field Safety Advisor / Safety Administrator to join our team.

You get the travel rates and energy of field safety work, along with the consistency of safety administration work to supplement the slower periods between contracts.

This is a unique hybrid position that combines working locally with travelling to projects throughout Canada. Some weeks may involve field visits, audits, inspections, or shutdown support, while other weeks may be spent preparing manuals, statistics, meeting minutes, COR documentation, incident investigations, and helping clients stay organized and compliant.

We are looking for someone who is practical, easy to work with, and enjoys building relationships with workers and clients. The successful candidate must be comfortable working independently, making decisions, and representing Coastal Safety professionally while in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct site inspections, observations, audits, and project visits throughout Canada as required
  • Facilitate orientations, toolbox talks, monthly safety meetings, and incident investigations
  • Develop and review safety manuals, policies, procedures, and COR documentation
  • Assist clients with ISNetworld, Avetta, ComplyWorks, and contractor compliance requirements
  • Complete safety statistics, reports, meeting minutes, and corrective action follow-up
  • Support clients with implementation and training on FLOWforms safety software

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3 years of field safety and safety administration experience in construction, industrial, or oil and gas environments
  • Must have experience working in multiple Canadian provinces (AB, BC and ON)
  • Strong understanding of health and safety legislation and the ability to research unfamiliar requirements when needed
  • CRST, CRSP, NCSO, OHS Certificate, or other safety designation REQUIRED.
  • Must be a team player and willing to jump in wherever needed
  • Ability to travel throughout Canada with short notice
  • Valid driver's licence and access to a reliable vehicle required
  • Must be comfortable working independently and be self-sufficient while travelling

Compensation

  • $30–$40 per hour depending on experience for office safety administration work
  • Additional competitive day rates, LOA, and mileage reimbursement depending on the field safety assignment
  • Accommodations, LOA, and mileage reimbursement provided for out-of-town projects
  • Opportunity to grow with a small but expanding consulting company and be involved with FLOWforms, an innovative safety management platform designed to make safety easier than pen and paper

Please note: Shortlisted candidates will be required to complete a brief practical assessment to demonstrate legislative research skills, familiarity with common safety documentation, and experience interpreting Canadian health and safety legislation.

Please send resumes to cori@coastalsafetyconsulting.com.

Pay: $30.00-$50.00 per hour

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Canada
