Full job description

We are seeking a technically capable, detail-oriented engineer or technologist to support the development and application of our proprietary RSL Membrane Technology.

This role combines hands-on laboratory work, R&D, water treatment design, field work, technical reporting, and client support.

A strong understanding of water chemistry is important, including knowledge of colloids, surface charge, and the electric double layer. The successful candidate should be comfortable working carefully in the lab, analyzing results, troubleshooting treatment performance, and applying those findings to real-world water treatment systems.

This is not only a laboratory role. You will also work directly with clients, participate in field projects, present technical findings, and help showcase the technology at conferences and industry events.

Because we are a small team of 7, flexibility, initiative, and a willingness to help across different areas of the business are important.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Conduct laboratory and pilot testing
  • Prepare chemical solutions and treatment dosages
  • Analyze water chemistry and treatment performance
  • Investigate colloids, surface charge, and particle behaviour
  • Document testing and analyze results
  • Lead and support R&D projects
  • Prepare process designs, PFDs, and treatment recommendations
  • Write technical reports and present findings to clients
  • Work directly with clients to solve treatment challenges
  • Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and field testing
  • Attend selected conferences and technical events
  • Travel internationally when required

Technical Strengths We're Looking For:

  • Strong understanding of water chemistry and chemical engineering
  • Knowledge of colloidal science, including the electric double layer and surface charge
  • Experience with water treatment and membrane systems
  • Hands-on laboratory or R&D experience
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to prepare chemical solutions and calculate dosages
  • Strong technical writing and presentation skills

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field, or CET with relevant experience
  • Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering, water treatment, membrane technology, or colloidal science is an asset
  • 3+ years of relevant experience preferred
  • Strong laboratory, technical writing, and communication skills
